Above Suspicion is the first Lynda La Plante book I’ve read in a long time. It was alright, but to be honest there’s not much to be said beyond that. The main protagonist was so annoying that I found myself hoping she’d die within the first few pages so the book had a chance of engaging me. Unfortunately she stayed firmly alive; had it not been for her, I would probably have enjoyed it a lot more.

It hasn’t put me off La Plante, but I’d try to steer clear of future books featuring the prissy, wimpish Anna Travis in the future.
