The Cold Calling by Will Kingdom. In a word, disappointing. In another, unlikely. A guy purporting to be the ancient Green Man of Pagan lore goes around the country, killing people on ley lines and at sacred sites. A policeman dies before being revived by a nurse-turned-healer on the operating table, where he has a near-death experience minus the pretty lights, which leaves him with a terrible fear of the afterlife. The stories of these two men intertwine seemingly interminably, and along the way we meet other ridiculous and unreal characters, none of whom particularly incite any amount of sympathy. People die, other people live, and eventually the killer is brought to justice; but who cares? Not me, that’s for sure.
It was bearable, I wouldn’t read it again though.
