Monkeewrench by PJ Tracy: fun, exciting, pretty gripping. I really thought I’d worked out who the killer was, and at the end I discovered I was almost right, which was pleasing. Definitely worth a read.
The most confusing thing is the book’s title. I picked it up from the charity shop at the end of my road, and the book I bought was called ‘Want to Play?’, but when I searched for it on Amazon it didn’t seem to have much of a real-life existence. Then I discovered that its alternative title is ‘Monkeewrench’, which makes sense as this is the name of the group of gamers around whom the story unfurls. Then, looking on FantasticFiction, I noticed that Want to Play? is described as ‘The first book in the Monkeewrench series’. So apparently, there are more; I’d love to find them, this one makes me believe they’d definitely be worth reading.
