2018 Reflections: Music

Spotify tells me I’ve listened to a fairly eclectic range of music this year, which is nothing unusual for me.

A lot of them come from my ‘Singing in the Kitchen’ playlist, which I listen to when I’m washing up. Others come from choir, which I had to leave during the later part of the year due to my body being stupid again. Hopefully next year I’ll be back.

My ‘Defiance’ playlist got a lot of love during the latter part of the year, after I went to see The Dresden Dolls at the Troxy and experienced them covering RATM’s ‘Killing In The Name’, which was phenomenal.

And then there are some that are always on there: a lot of Renaud, of course; some Blackmore’s Night and Barbra Streisand and Jillette Johnson and First Aid Kit. A bit of rap and some musicals, and some old French crooners and of course David Bowie.

What were your top songs in 2018?
