Since I moved into this flat four years ago, I have told people that the plan is to buy it, then sell it in a few years’ time and move to a little cottage in the middle of nowhere, probably in the Scottish highlands. I mainly told people this because it shut them up about my life plans, and because it’s the kind of Sensible Plan most people seem to approve of, but in reality I’m not convinced I ever actually wanted to do that.
I called my landlord a couple of weeks ago to find out whether I could buy the flat, and they said I am eligible to buy a flat from them, but not this flat, because it’s not for sale. Which is a pretty good reason. Read more
I just read this post on Tremendous Times about how to reset your life and your goals, and it inspired me to answer the questions and do a recap of how the year is going so far. Considering that we’re now halfway through, it seems appropriate.
Also I’m doing this project that involves finding good expat blogs and writing about them, and it keeps making me want to move abroad/just travel around for a living.
I wrote that sentence and then I realised that for most of this year I actually *am* travelling around for a living, lol
I wrote that the other day in an email to my friend. And then I looked at it and wondered why I hadn’t realised I was pretty much already living the dream.
