Let’s Talk About Therapy

I was reminded this morning that it’s World Mental Health Day when I posted an article by Dr. Walid Abdul-Hamid over on Expat Focus about mental health in the workplace.

In the past I’ve talked a bit about mental health on this blog, and most years I just reshare that post because I’m lazy I think it might be helpful to someone.

But this year, after reading through Dr. Walid’s article, I thought it might be worth having a brief chat about therapy.

My contribution to #WorldMentalHealthDay

Some time ago, I broke my foot in a boxing class. I’m not even sure how I managed to do it – I wasn’t actually boxing at the time, just doing the warm-up exercise, which involved sprinting from one side of the room to the other when the trainer yelled “GO!”.

I tripped over something (myself? the floor? air?) and landed crumpled-up on my foot. It broke. I spent some time at home, not walking on it and keeping it strapped up and elevated, until it eventually healed.
